My First Blog Entry
I was in the garden this morning collecting Japanese beetles from off my hibiscus bush, when suddenly I heard a whirring by my right ear. Turning I saw a hummingbird within two feet of my head. He paused in mid-air for a minute or two, assessing the situation, and then off he flew. Hummingbirds like hibiscus blooms, for their sweet nectar, so this hummingbird was probably having to choose between the nectar and having to contend with me.
